Position

Dr. Don Olson grew up in Northern Minnesota after being born in Maryland. He attended Hibbing High School before continuing his education at the University of North Dakota, where he pursued a career in physical therapy. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1984 and later completed his transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2005, both from UND.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Olson has practiced in a wide range of clinical settings, including long-term transitional care, assistive technology, inpatient and outpatient care, short-term rehabilitation, and home health services. His professional interests include functional and integrative lifestyle medicine, geriatric rehabilitation, orthopedic post-care, pain science education, assistive mobility technology, and working with individuals with physical disabilities. He is a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA) through the American Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy and firmly believes that movement is often the best medicine.

Dr. Olson lives in the Crosslake area with his spouse, Kim, and their dog, Birch. Together they enjoy outdoor projects such as landscaping and tree work, as well as hiking and biking whenever the weather allows. They have three grown children and six grandchildren—thankfully all in Minnesota—who keep them happily busy with family activities and events.
